Traveling with kids is definitely hard but traveling with a baby/toddler should be an olympic sport. Thankfully I’ve found a few items that help.
First Up: Containment
This pack & play is the best to travel with. (Honestly it actually lives in the back of my car for those unplanned naps at our family’s houses.) It folds up pretty small and it is super lightweight without sacrificing sleeping space when open.
After sleep space comes play space. This pop n go playpen is a game changer! Just like the pack and play it takes up little room when folded and isn’t heavy at all! Its fully enclosed so it protects them from bugs and it comes with a shade cover to keep them out of the sun.
Next Up: Feeding
We use this pop n go high chair even when we aren’t traveling. (It also lives in my car LOL) It is so convenient. We use it in the hotel, at family members house, eating out, and at big brother’s football games, just to name a few spots it has come in handy.
When I learned about Take & Toss my life changed. Not to be dramatic, but seriously! They are CHEAP but still decent quality. They are cheap enough that you don’t feel bad tossing them if needed. For example, going to Disney we will use these for milk in the morning at our hotel. Rather than also packing everything to try wash them, I will just toss them.
Another life saver are these disposable placemats. These are incredible for going out to eat. They have adhesive on the back to keep them stuck to the table. With my first child we used reusable silicone mats. My second child basically laughed at us when we brought those back out. 🫣 He would just pick up and dump the silicone mats.
Thankfully as they grow the packing list gets shorter. So, for all the mamas out there with tiny babies prior to the solids stage, hang in there!! One day I will do a post about my favorites for itty bitty babies because .. hello bottles?!
